Monaco can sign Slimani permanently for less than £8m

According to , the loan agreement between Leicester City and AS Monaco for Islam Slimani allows the French club to sign the striker permanently for less than £8 million.

Slimani arrived to Leicester from Sporting Lisbon in 2016 for a club record fee of £28 million, a few months after the Foxes shocked the world by being crowned Premier League champions. However, the Algerian has never been able to justify that kind of investment in him, and since then, he s been on loan with Newcastle, Fenerbahce, and currently Monaco.

This season he has been on terrific form for the Ligue 1 side, netting five times and assisting six in seven games in all competitions so far, and should they decide to make the switch permanent at the end of the season, Leicester would apparently lose their record signing for about a quarter of the fee they paid for him in the first place, amounting to £7.8 million.
