Ex-Bastia man Palmieri questions Balotelli racial abuse claims

Former Bastia player Julian Palmieri has dismissed Mario Balotelli s claims that he was racially abused during Nice s 1-1 Ligue 1 draw at the Stade Armand Cesari.

Balotelli lambasted a horrible situation after Friday s game, alleging in an Instagram post that he was the subjected monkey noises from a section of the home supporters.

The French Professional Football League (LFP) has announced it will investigate incidents from the game and said in a statement it  deplores all the incidents that occured during the SC Bastia OGC Nice meeting .

But Palmieri, who made his professional debut at Bastia in 2005 before returning to his hometown club for a stint between 2012 and 2016, questioned the striker s version of events and suggested Balotelli was looking for excus…

Guardiola ´thinks he knows better than anybody´, Bayern doctor claims

Bayern Munich and Germany doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt has launched another attack on Pep Guardiola, claiming the Manchester City coach overestimated himself during their time working together.

After 38 years at the club, Muller-Wohlfahrt left Bayern during Guardiola s tenure, having fallen out with the Catalan following a 3-1 loss to Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2015.

He returned in November last year to be reunited with former coach Jupp Heynckes, who was tempted out of retirement to replace the sacked Carlo Ancelotti.

In an extract from his book published by Bild earlier this month, Muller-Wohlfahrt described Guardiola as a person with a weak self-confidence who does everything to hide that from other people .

And the experie…

Monaco can sign Slimani permanently for less than £8m

According to , the loan agreement between Leicester City and AS Monaco for Islam Slimani allows the French club to sign the striker permanently for less than £8 million.

Slimani arrived to Leicester from Sporting Lisbon in 2016 for a club record fee of £28 million, a few months after the Foxes shocked the world by being crowned Premier League champions. However, the Algerian has never been able to justify that kind of investment in him, and since then, he s been on loan with Newcastle, Fenerbahce, and currently Monaco.

This season he has been on terrific form for the Ligue 1 side, netting five times and assisting six in seven games in all competitions so far, and should they decide to make the switch permanent at the end of the season, Leicester would apparently lose …

Feignies-Aulnoye 0-3 Paris Saint-Germain: Mbappe stars in Coupe de France cruise past minnows

Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 3-0 win over minnows Feignies-Aulnoye in Sunday s Coupe de France round-of-64 clash

PSG never looked in danger of suffering an upset against their fifth-tier opponents, and they went 2-0 up after 30 minutes through penalties from Mbappe and Mauro Icardi.

Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was withdrawn at the interval on just his second appearance for the Parisians, perhaps not the best sign as he continues his recovery from injury, before Mbappe added a third goal early in the second period.

The Ligue 1 leaders, who have lifted the trophy in six of the last seven seasons, continued to create chances but ultimately fell short of adding gloss to the scoreline.

Pepe not happy with Arsenal playing time, admits Arteta

Nicolas Pepe is not happy with his playing time at Arsenal, but his frustration is something manager Mikel Arteta is happy to see.

The winger started Tuesday s 5-1 EFL Cup quarter-final win over Sunderland, scoring Arsenal s second goal and setting up the final two for Eddie Nketiah and Charlie Patino.

That was only Pepe s eighth start of the season in all competitions. In total, he has played 759 minutes in 2021-22, fewer than youngster Gabriel Martinelli and the apparently out-of-favour Alexandre Lacazette.

Arteta said Pepe is putting up a fight to earn more minutes for the Gunners, something he wants to see from all of his squad players.

A player that doesn t play, if he s happy you have a big problem and Nico has not been happy, he said of Arsenal s …

Mourinho( aha the real one) leaving or staying
If he stays theres a big chance of coentrao and ronaldo staying and also some players like bale or mabye kyle geting a chance in the team
Mabye joao moutinho even as a extra option in holding mid.field
But if the special one leaves
Things migjt change big time at madrid
And
I doubt it wil be for the good of real

But yeah ur right coentrao and marcelo are both left backs
But they do play on both sides well
( if needed) , i would rather let
Marcelo play on the right side and coentrao on the left
But its true kyle could be a good option( and as i said better then the current right back!)
Even though i rather see bale play at madrid
Having him and di maria and ronaldo
Play togeter would be an
Overkill to the world teams

Toivonen knows ´very little´ about Norwich

Norwich City transfer target Ola Toivonen has admitted that he knows very little about the Carrow Road outfit.

The Swedish striker, who plays for Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, has been linked with a move to the Premier League club, who are reported to have offered in the region of five million pounds for his services.
Toivonen would provide additional depth to manager Chris Hughton s attacking options, which will also be bolstered by Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who signed from Sporting Lisbon in January, when pre-season training resumes.
But the 26-year-old, who has been on international duty recently, revealed that his knowledge of his prospective employers is limited.
He told Sky Sports: I really do not know what I have at home is not the right TV channels.

Liverpool have three finals left – Mignolet eyes top four-finish

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet told his team they had three finals left this season as they look to seal a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp s men claimed an important 1-0 win at Watford on Monday to consolidate third spot in the table.

Liverpool (69 points, 35 games) are well adrift of the top two, but remain ahead of Manchester City (66, 34), United (65, 34) and Arsenal (60, 33).

With games against Southampton, West Ham and Middlesbrough to finish the season, Mignolet said the outings needed to be treated like do-or-die matches.

We re hungry to play in the Champions League. We know what it means, not only for us, but also for the fans of the club, he told UK newspapers.

The history of this great club has been all about f…

´Super-sub´ tag ruined United career – Hernandez

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez believes his super-sub reputation was his undoing at Manchester United.

Mexico international signed for Bundesliga outfit Leverkusen in August and has revelled as the main striker, scoring 19 goals in 22 games across all competitions.

Hernandez was a surprise signing at Old Trafford, when Alex Ferguson secured his signature in 2010 and he went on to become an instant hit at United, scoring 20 goals in his first season to help clinch the Premier League title.

Under current United manager Louis van Gaal, Hernandez was loaned to Real Madrid in 2014-15, after the club signed Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan, before being sold last year, having struggled to impress the Dutch boss in the opening stages of the 2015-16 season…

Afobe close to permanent Wolverhampton Wanderers return

Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on a deal to re-sign Benik Afobe from Bournemouth, according to Sky Sports.

The forward, who moved to the Vitality Stadium from Molineux in January 2016 returned to the Midlands club on loan for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.

His six goals helped Nuno Esperito Santo’s side clinch the Championship title and was enough to persuade the Portuguese to pursue a permanent return for the DR Congo international.

During his first spell with Wolves, Afobe scored twenty-three goals in forty-two games in all competitions before netting eleven times in seventy outings for the Cherries while his most prolific goal scoring season came in 2014/15 while he was on loan at MK Dons.

Having represented England at every l…
